The Consortium has just released the CLAT 2025 Second Allotment List on June 4, 2025, and this year, things are moving faster than ever.
Why?
Because unlike previous years where there were five rounds of seat allotment, only three rounds are happening in 2025. Yes, that means less room for error, fewer chances to upgrade, and tighter timelines.
If your name is on the second list—congratulations! But now’s not the time to relax. You’re at a crucial fork in the road, and your next step could make or break your NLU dream.
Let’s break it down.
If you've been allotted a seat in this round, you need to:
1. Pay the ₹20,000 Confirmation Fee by June 9, 1 PM.
2. Submit the University Admission Fee by June 14, 5 PM.
Both steps are mandatory. Missing the deadlines means losing the seat you worked so hard to earn.
You might be thinking, “I’ll wait for Round 3 and then decide.” Fair—but only if you’re playing your cards smartly.
The decision you make now defines your journey.
Freeze: You’re satisfied with the current allotment and want to lock in your seat. Smart move if you're happy with the NLU and want stability.
Float: You're okay with this seat for now but are holding out for a better one in the final list. Riskier—but could be worth it.
Exit: You’re stepping away from counselling. This might be your call if you have other plans—but be absolutely sure.
Important: Even if you float, you must pay the ₹20,000 confirmation fee to stay in the race. Skipping that means you’re out, no exceptions.
This year, with only three lists, every decision carries more weight. You don’t have the luxury of waiting around till July hoping for a miracle list. Round 3—on June 20, 2025—is your final shot.
If you’ve been allotted a lower NLU but are dreaming of a Tier-1, the float option may feel like a no-brainer. But take a breath and weigh the risk. How realistic is the jump? What’s your rank? What was the last year’s closing for your category?
Sometimes, settling now opens more doors later—transfers, internships, peer circles, career building. Sometimes, the gamble pays off.
There’s no one-size-fits-all. But there is a best-fit-for-you. Make that choice.
If you haven’t been allotted a seat yet, don't panic.
Stay ready with documents.
Monitor official updates.
Mentally prep for the final round—this is the tightrope walk of CLAT.
And remember: even if you don’t make it this year, your story doesn’t end. Thousands reattempt and make it stronger the second time around. Some even find other equally powerful paths in law—through private universities, 3-year LL.B., or alternative exams. You’ve not lost; you’re just regrouping.
This year’s counselling has been unusually compressed. The stakes are higher, the timeframes shorter, and the decisions sharper. But clarity, not chaos, should guide you now.
If you feel overwhelmed don’t go through it alone.
NLTI has been mentoring aspirants exactly at this crossroads—offering clarity, strategy, and reassurance. Whether you're navigating float dilemmas or deciding between multiple calls, it helps to have seasoned minds by your side.
You’re closer than you think. Make every move count.
